Actually, it was two nights ago…I became a vegetarian, more specifically a vegan.  It worked great because I didn’t have any snacks before bed, just tea.  Easy peasy.

Then my veganism took a turn for ovo-lacto when I had a fried egg with my dinner and took a bite out of my kid’s cheese. Dairy was what I was really trying to avoid in the first place, which is usually not a problem for me, except for the butter I sautéed the veggies for our soup in yesterday…and the 1/2 and 1/2 I used to cream it up a bit…

It’s not hard to become a vegetarian after watching “Forks Over Knives.”  But it’s almost impossible to avoid after watching it a second time.

I needed the reminder, especially the incredible research regarding 5% and 20% doses of casein given to lab rats, where their cancer cells ebbed and surged with increased dosages, as this has been a theory of mine for a while…

Actually, vegetables are my favorite food, but I’ve also been a big meat-eater.  Like, big time.  Bacon, jerky, burgers, ham, and even though all grass-fed sources, I’ve still felt a need to cut back.  Cut back on the walkers and add in more swimmers:  increase my fish, and totally eliminate the dairy altogether.

And so, last night I became a vegan but I’m thinking pescatarian is more my gig, a non-land/sky animal eating, vegetable loving fish eater, person, who is gluten, corn, soy, and mostly grain-free.

After reading the description above, I think it’s safe to call this form of eating: Pescataleo.  Yep.  It has a nice ring to it.

Pretty much I’m thinking I’ll just be eating spinach salads and salmon from here on out…I do have a reason for all of this and it may not be what you may think it is.  I’ll share that in another post.

I’ll let you know how it goes.  Meanwhile, I have to figure out a better snack than potato chips since those don’t really count as vegetables and all…

  1. Welcome (-; I do need to caution you against too much fish, unfortunately our waters are not the cleanest and fish-ies are thus rather toxic (mercury etc.). I am interested to hear what your blog to come has to say! I have lots to offer on this topic…

    • Friend, I thought of you as I’ve been toying with this, for the practical insight and wisdom. I’m not going to be eating soy, so that’s not an option. Honestly, I’ve felt for a while to go Daniel chapter 1 style, not only for health, but as a spiritual discipline. I WANT TO HEAR GOD AND DISCERN HIM AND BE AVAILABLE TO HIM WITHOUT THE DISTRACTIONS. I WANT TO BE USED BY HIM, and food has always been a stumbling block to me, so just eating the stuff he made makes sense to my heart (veggies, fruit, fish) I don’t buy/eat any farm-raised fish, only wild caught, but I know our oceans aren’t the cleanest. I guess I just wished you and I could run away to an island where your husband makes us macadamia crusted mahi mahi 😉 xoxox
