Here is a photo story that I don’t think I have yet posted. It was made for us as a gift from a woman in Georgia that doesn’t know us. She captured the pictures off the blog and set them to music. I have used it when I do speaking engagements, but wanted to share it here, with whoever is still out there in blog world. The song is now our family anthem. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do…

I submitted Noah’s story to “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep” yesterday. I hadn’t realized that was something I could do. Anyway, nilmdts is such an amazing organization. They are the ones that sent the photographer the day we gave Noah to the Lord. On their website: www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org you can go to the image gallery and click on any photo to learn the story of the little one pictured. It’s a difficult website to look at, but so beautiful at the same time. If you know anyone with an infant, pregnancy, or child that is terminal, I want to encourage you to make this information available to them. We treasure the pictures we had taken the day Noah died so much.

For any other mom out there, even if it seems uncomfortable to have a stranger in the room with you during your most intimate moments with your child, I cannot tell you enough how much of a treasure those photos will be to you later. You may think they will be painful to view, but as time passes, you won’t be able to look at them enough.

Anyway, for what it’s worth…

  1. This brought a flood of memories and tears. Absolutely beautiful!! Thanks for sharing your “show and tell” with us. What a true gift Noah and his family are. May GOD continue to be ever present in all you do, say, and are. May the RISEN CHRIST continue to be found in each and every moment. You, my friend, are a rare and precious jewel…no wonder your children are too!

  2. Although we have never “met” and I have only commented once before, I wanted to thank you and tell you what an encouragement you are to me. I found your site through a friend’s friend, of a friend – the ultimate chain reaction – and I read your posts every day.

I pray for you and your family every day. Thank you for sharing your heart and for being salt and light. I have been challenged in my walk with God and humbled in countless areas of my life and I thank you for being a catalyst along the way.

Thank you for sharing your heart and the video. Thank you. . .

  3. What a beautiful slideshow! Jake sat next to me and watched too. He kept pointing to Noah and saying “Bebe!”

I became a volunteer photographer for NILMDTS after hearing a commenter mention it on your blog about a year ago. What a blessing the organization is.

  4. Was this the video you showed at church when you came and spoke to the women? I never get tired of it and Noah is a beautiful boy! Adrienne, you are a wonderful person and those who have not been lucky enough to meet you are truly missing out. You truly mean what you say and don’t just make small talk. I like that about you! You are an inspiration to me! Love you!

  5. A couple Saturdays ago I felt led to start something on my blog called “6:8 Saturdays”. My purpose is to highlight topics and people or organizations that embody the idea of Micah 6:8, as a way to encourage us to actively live that way too. Some of my readers are not Christians, but they can appreciate the ideas of seeking justice, loving mercy, living with humility, and just being an all-around compassionate human being. Last week I awkwardly tried to write about the whole idea of the sanctity of life, pointing out blogs that have taught me that so eloquently (especially blogs of babies with Trisomy 18, who many would consider aborting instead of carrying to term just to face a loss), and I encouraged readers to do two things. One of them was to contribute to the NILMDTS organization. The reason I felt strongly about that was largely in part to your blog, for you were the first person I’d ever known to have captured such precious memories in that way. I actually didn’t realize they were the ones you had used, but I’m glad I wrote the way I did on that day, despite my awkwardness.

And just so you know, I learn a lot from your writings on this blog. Whenever you share from your heart, whether it’s an admonition from Scripture, or just simply sharing how you miss Noah, God always seems to speak to me. Thank you for that.

  6. I can never tire of seeing such beautiful pictures of your family. You are such an inspiraton and I look forward to each new post. May god bless with.

  7. That was beautiful! So many memories, bring me to think of where i was at when i would see and read those posts with each and every picture…who may have been around me at that time and who i would have shared his story with. I have been so challenged by the story of Noah’s life, in my life, taking it to heart. I have a hope and trust in an eternal, loving Father, Jesus Christ!
    Romans 8:24-25
For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
    God is Good!

  8. What an incredible gift it would have been to have had a photographer present in those days before Ricky died… and after. Wish I had known…

  9. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing that with those of us who haven’t had the priviledge of hearing you speak in person. The scripture at the end is perfect–so perfect.

  10. I have wept as I watched the video. I came across your site just before Noah went Home, and have not been able to walk away ever since. Without a doubt, God has been glorified through you. Without a doubt. You remind me, with every post, of what this life is all about. Thank you for sharing your heart.

  11. my last blog entry I wrote about the now I lay me down to sleep foundation and felt compelled to add the link to your blog, because it is so inspiring to me. I just thought God’s timing was so neat, considering this most recent post. Thanks for the sharing from your heart.

  12. What a precious video! That song is amazing, and seeing those pictures of your family…just so touching. I came across the NILMDTS site last year…what a ministry they provide to families.
Thanks for sharing that video! And there are still lots of us out in blog land checking in on you! 🙂

  13. We’re still here– we care and will continue to care about you and your family. My friends had an amazing lady come in the middle of the night… I can’t imagine why the CA. hospital didn’t share about this service when she was giving Ricky to the Lord.
