There is cancer in my mom’s body.

Though I am her daughter and will/would fight for her to make it go away, over the past 3 years I’ve been spending much time in prayer and observation, watching helpless at times, sharing tears, laughing when the very thing may seem disrespectful and out of place…but I’ve been learning a lot…like how complicated life is and how much I love my mom, along with my dad, sisters, and a whole lot of other family and friends.

She is a rock when it comes to her faith, trust, and love for God. She has a direct line, I’m sure of it, and I hope to hear Him that clearly as I press into Him.

Facebook has blocked me from “liking” the posts I put up about my mom, so I’m asking a favor of those of you who read here and are willing: will you please comment here so I can show my mom?

Anyway, here is the update:

Thank you for praying for my mom! Please keep the prayers going and however the Lord leads you, share your heart here so I can pass it onto my mom to lift her up.

Here’s the scoop: about 12 weeks ago she was finishing a round of chemo and was so wiped out, even though it was shrinking the tumors in her lungs. She received 2 units of blood at the end of this round. The doc wanted to give my mom a break from chemo so her body could recover before she started a new round. During the break she would be on a trial drug for which she qualified that was not a “killer of good cells” but would only inhibit bad cells from growing, IF IT WORKED. My mom was on the trial drug for 8 weeks and also changed her diet to include tons of veggies and fresh food and lean proteins, checking her alkalinity each day. She was pink again and said she felt great, except for the pain in her left shoulder where the radiation treatments froze her muscles. After the 8 weeks were up she had an appt with her oncologist that we all went to and the scans showed that during those 8 weeks the tumors doubled in size. *She has metastasized triple negative ductal carcinoma in her lungs.

Right after that appt she decided she had no other choice than to try one of about 5 other chemos the doctor told her about. This one, however, was a daily oral chemo that she was to take for 2 weeks, then rest one week, then 2 weeks and rest another week. (Her previous chemos have all been IV and administered once a week, with a bit of time to breathe on her days off….) She was so weak and tired on this chemo she did finish the first set of 2 weeks but got sick during that time and the cough hasn’t gone away, so she told her doctor that if she didn’t recover during the rest week she wasn’t going to do the second set until she was strong enough.

She went in for physical therapy yesterday morning for her shoulder, but before hand called her nurse and after hearing her on the phone the nurse instructed her to go thru the ER to get an Xray and scan. The doc was going to discharge her but when she got up to go to the bathroom she could hardly walk. They admitted her and read the scans. During the last 11 1/2 weeks the tumors have increased considerably, neither the trial drug nor the oral chemo working, and now she has pneumonia. They are treating her with IV antibiotics, giving her white blood cells a boost, and she is going to start a different chemo, likely.

She just called a bit ago and has no air movement in her left side. They want to scope her and see if there is a mucus plug they can remove or if it’s a tumor putting pressure on her bronchials. They just moved her to ICU and will start the procedure any minute. I’m spending the night there tonight and hope to spend some time with her in the morning. *Update at 7:26, it’s not a mucus plug or the pneumonia causing the difficulty breathing, it’s the tumor.

Here’s the deal…my parents are way too young to be this old! I’m not in denial. My father-in-law died at 49. Noah was 7 months. I get this. It’s just that I believe God has more life for my parents to carry out some plans He has for His Kingdom purposes. My mom is at peace either way, but she doesn’t feel like she is done yet, either!!! They have dreams and prayers they have prayed for 20+ years. I know all about chapter 11 in Hebrews…maybe I am in denial. I just am not done loving my parents and enjoying who they are, and not done introducing everyone I know to them. I’m so very grateful God chose them to be my parents and I think they are some pretty wonderful people….

All I know is the faith and trust my parents have in the Lord is challenging my own. My mom is a prayer warrior. Like I said, direct line, and some might say, “Well then why isn’t God just healing her?” Or, “If He is so good, why won’t He heal her?” In life there is a bigger picture of which we are not totally aware. I’m okay to say I just don’t know. He loved my son and he died.  He loved His own Son…and we know that story. My mom takes it further and assures us all that He is good and her love for Him won’t change whatever the outcome.

I’m kind of numb and am just soaking in time with my folks. Any prayers of encouragement for them would be fantastic and most certainly welcomed.
Thanks…

Ade

  2. Dearest Adrienne and Betty,
I am praying for both of you and will continue to pray for healing, peace and strength.
    From my heart to yours,
    Susan

  3. OK Betty, I am bolding coming before the Lord and asking that through the Authority as a Believer given to me by my Savior Jesus Christ to bring healing (complete and total healing) into your body! I declare in the Name of Jesus that any and all pestilence that may be invading your body be cursed and thrown into the Lake of Fire, never to return to you or any other body on this earth! Lord you told us that by your stripes we are healed! Well, Lord we believe it, claim it and trust it and I ask you NOW to touch my Sister’s body and bring healing whole and perfect as only you can do!! Bring Peace onto my Sister Lord as she waits upon you for your perfect answer!! Be with her family and help them to trust you for wisdom and understanding and comfort! Lord we LOVE you and know our lives are in your hands, and what other place would we ever want to be??? NO where, with you and you alone Lord!! So now Lord we put our complete Trust in you and you alone!!
    Love you Betty!!! xoxox pat

  4. My prayers for you and your family are constant. I have loved you all since we first met so many years ago. Betty my dear old friend, I pray each day that The Lord might heal you and give you time with your family. I think of you each day and add my prayers together with all your family and friends who love you. Your strength and beauty are a testament to God. Ginny

  5. Ok well…you know I’ve walked this road girl. And I know!!…It’s just STUPID! No words or scripture or advice help to prepare or even maintain really, at times. It’s just minute to minute. You know, as well as I, that we WILL see miracles in THIS life!…..He can take those tumors away in less time than it takes me to eat a bowl of ice cream and that’s freakin’ fast! He is amazing…and I don’t need to tell you that of course but I BELIEVE that he is working on healing. True, physical healing!! I believe that those doctors will stand back and look at those scans and be speechless b/c they see NOTHING! And they won’t have an answer. But WE will.
I’ve seen all of the prayers going out to you and there are SO many more that are lifted up that just aren’t being seen thru social media so obviously….if prayers are going to heal her….you’ve got that DOWN!!
Standing on faith that we will see a miracle. That her story is still YEARS in the making. No matter what…..Angels are singing & preparing, watching & waiting….in anticipation!
Many hugs to you, your family & that sweet mama of yours!

  6. So wish the news was better and more hopeful right now Adrienne, but I also know that God is much bigger that the news and can give an all encompassing hope that the dr.s couldn’t even come close to giving. His perfect plan is in work and the wonderful thing here is that you are all ready to do His will and follow His plan to perfection. He has you all so tightly wrapped up in His big, huge loving arms right now, and there is a continuous storm of prayers being sent to heaven right now for your beautiful Mom!! So as you continue your prayer, make sure you remain at peace in His arms and soak in every precious moment with your parents. We will all continue to pray that there are many, many more!!! I love you. I love your mom. We are in continuos prayer here and we have asked others to pray as well! God Bless you all!!!

  7. Praying for your mom Add, your dad, you and everyone. This is just so tough. You have to lean on your mom’s faith, push in and I know she will share. I had to do that with my dad. I know it’s been years since we ha e seen each other but know you ate loved and prayed over sweet friend.

  8. Oh, Adrienne! I am so sorry to hear about this difficult journey your Mom and family has had to endure the past couple months. I will add your Mom to our “friends with cancer” prayer list. I will pray for God’s favor and that she will be healed! I will pray for God’s glory through all of this, too, no matter the outcome. Thank you for sharing and letting us know! It sounds like your Mom is a treasure and a blessing! I am praying!!

  9. Praying and believing for your mother! When I read these words about your precious parents I am overwhelmed with the LOVE and PEACE that passes all understanding that is so evident and true in your writing even in this most difficult time!! I am asking God to miraculously heal this cancer and believing for more years on this earth with your mother. She is such a special lady and a gift to this world!! Thanking God for His Hand in her life and the purposes that He has hidden in her heart!

  10. I am so sorry that you are going through this trial. I have prayed and will continue to pray for you and your sweet mama…Lord Jesus, may your healing power and strength be so evident and present right now…may you be so incredibly real to Ade and her family…may her mama feel your loving arms wrapped around her and may she know that you are holding her close during this time of unknowns…Lord, may your peace be palpable in that hospital tonight…I pray for your angels to surround Adrienne’s mom and dad and the rest of the family…comfort and encourage their hearts…Amen.

    Love to you friend,
    Melody

  11. Praying daily for you and your beautiful mother. Praying for God’s peace for you all, relief of pain for her, direction for the physicians, and for you to feel the Lord’s presence especially close during this time.

  12. Adrienne, I cannot get your mom out of my thoughts or my heart. Through the years, I have felt a kindred spirit with her. One of those pesons that, you know
If you would’ve had the opportunity to be together more, you would’ve been best friends. Her warrior spirit resonates
With me. I love her, carry her in my heart
And contend for her healing. I agree, it is just too early for her to leave this earth,
So much for her to yet accomplish for the Kingdom and dreams to be pursued.
Kiss her on the cheek for me and know that you too, are in my prayers.

  13. No words. Just lots and lots of prayers for both of you! Prayers for comfort and peace and healing and family time and much more. Your mom sounds like one amazing person and I could sense that the one time that I met her. Follow her lead. And lean into Him.
    Much love,
    Jenn

  14. We are not going to stop praying!! We believe in miracles!! We have seen miracles!! You both are in our constant thoughts and prayers!!!! We love you!!

  15. Oh, Adrienne…I know exactly what you are going through, it was just faster for me. And my dad had lived a long and full life. I know Bebe very well and, next to my own mother, I love her dearly. I have learned more about faith, family and unconditional love from being her friend than from anyone else. It is impossible for me to think of this world without her in it – something my mind is fighting even conceiving. I believe in a miracle working God and that’s what we are praying for…but I know your mom well enough to know she is prepared to go to heaven and her love for Jesus has no rival. That’s one of the first things I ever heard her say – “Next to Jesus, Bob and I love each other more than anything. And our children right with Him!” Bebe is one of the few Christians I’ve known who genuinely lives her faith 24/7. No one is perfect, but her devotion to Father God and His Son are matchless. I know how your heart must be breaking because your mom is an awesome mom, always has been! Beauty queen, intellectual, loving wife, mother, matchless friend…and so much more. My parents valued your folks more than any other friends they’ve known because of their authenticity and caring hearts. They were there for us when my father was so ill, they were the only speakers at his funeral other than the minister and myself. They are as good as gold. All I can say to you, Adrienne, is don’t miss a moment with her and leave nothing unsaid. Please convey to her our love and my own heartfelt thanks for all she has done and meant to us. If she makes heaven before I do, may she tell her father we had his favorite dish at Cheesecake Factory the other day in his honor (I can’t believe I’m mentioning this!) and please tell my father of the life he’s missed with us and how much we love him. That’s the thing about love, it doesn’t ever die or go away. It just grows stronger and sweeter and it will be satisfied in eternity. I believe your mom is more eternity minded than just about anyone I’ve known. Maybe that’s one reason it’s so hard to let her leave…we all know deep inside that it’s too soon, there’s too much left for her to do and experience here with us…may she walk out of that hospital like Lazarus! The glory of God is covering her, just as His grace will take you through this journey of yours. And all the love and devotion she has shown you will never end. Nor will ours for her. I love you, Bebe. Always. xoxo

  16. thanks so much for the update, ade…asking Jesus to show Himself strong for both you and your dear mom. trusting that the One who created every cell in her body can EASILY heal and restore every cell in her body. asking Jesus to sustain you and encourage you in every way–spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally. SO many people love you and are WITH YOU in this. please keep us posted. much love to you!

  17. Adrienne,

I’m so sorry! God is good though. Find all you can to be praising Him for during this difficult time. I’ll be praying for you all. I’ll also leave you with some scripture to be praying over. What better encouragement than the Lord’s! God bless you all!! Love you! -Lisa

James 1:2-4-Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 5:10-11-Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

James 5:13-16- Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

1 Peter 1:6-7-In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Proverbs 19:21-Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

James 1:12-Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Romans 5:3-5-Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 8:18-I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

2 Corinthians 1:5-7-For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

2 Thessalonians 1:2-12- Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.
All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.
With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 2:1-13-You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.
Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
    Here is a trustworthy saying:
    If we died with him,
    we will also live with him;
    if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
    If we disown him,
    he will also disown us;
    if we are faithless,
    he remains faithful,
    for he cannot disown himself.

1 Peter 2:19-21- For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
    “He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.

1 Peter 4:12-13- Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

  18. Adrienne,

Your families faith and reliance on Almighty God is a testimony that will outlive even you. While so many are praying for healing, I believe God is relishing in hearing all these voices speaking on behalf of your mother.

Other than that, I got nothing. Your story hits to close to home with me. I can’t tell how many times I have pictured myself laying next to, holding hands with my wife, praying with all my strength. What always pulls me out of that mindset is our promise to one another to NEVER let cancer run our lives. God gave us each other to enjoy life, including the struggles, and to share His love with those around us. I see your mother doing the same and I give her a standing ovation! Celebrate! Love! Laugh! Scream! Do it all and do it together.

Mandy and continue in prayer for your mom and your dad (I always have to include the caregiver.) My prayer is for Gods SHALOM to be upon all of you.

    Jay

  19. I love you and your family so much! Your mother inspires me! She is an absolute delight. She sure did raise some amazing girls too!
There is so much that I don’t understand. What I do know is that Gods love is ever powerful and comforting. I treasure each and every moment of everyday. I’m so glad to to walk this life with you : ) I won’t stop praying and believing in miracles.

  20. My dear sweet Adrienne,
I think about you and your beautiful family so often. Please give your sweet loving mama every ounce of love I’m sending her way. Our family is praying for all of you. Love you all so very very much…
    God Bless You…
    Tina ♡♡♡

  21. Dear Adrienne,

I can’t begin to put into words what my heart feels. It’s filled with many things at the moment but mostly with Jesus and hope for your beautiful mom! I don’t know of many people with faith like hers and a love for God like hers. Please know that I am praying for peace and healing! My favorite scripture is one that I will share with you. Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God. ~~~ Adrienne, in the quiet of your heart and in the stillness of your soul you will find the One who will never leave your side. I love you guys and please give your mom a huge hug from me! ♥Whitney

  22. I’ll be praying for your Mom, Adrienne…He is able! I’m going to write her name and put it on my mirror so I am reminded day and night to pray.

  23. There are no good words. Just prayers in my heart for a miracle in THIS side of life, and peace to wash over ALL of you. For a sense of God’a goodness that just won’t go away to be present all around and over all of you.

  24. Father, you are a good and loving and gracious God. We trust that you love us in a way that we really cannot comprehend. I come asking that you remove the tumors in the lungs of your daughter who loves you so, for her to have abundant life again, and so that you will be glorified. We know you are able. We trust you regardless of how you move. Give peace and understanding where it is lacking. You are sovereign, God, and we love you. Amen
I’ll continue to pray for you all!!

  25. Ade, Betty and family,
Praying that God will multiply your moments and that His grace will fill every one of them. I hope this Scripture will encourage you all as much has it has me during that difficult times:
8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken. We are perplexed because we don’t know why things happen as they do, but we don’t give up and quit. 9 We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going. 2 Cor. 4:8,9
    Hard hugs to you!!

  26. Standing with you all for healing in your mom’s body. Also praying for those of you who are watching close by and I hear the scripture some trust in horses, some in chariots but we trust in the name of the Lord our God! The name above every other name. The name that cancer has to bow to. The name that tumors have to bow to. The name that brings peace, the name that brings hope, the name that brings healing…. that causes us to trust in answer and gives us strength in the journey!! Praying that this morning!!
    Blessings and much love!!
    Sue

  27. I’m praying for you all! Lord, Please bring healing to Adrienne’s mom…fill these days with your peace, and power, and comfort and joy…May you receive great glory and honor!
    AMEN

  28. The faith and trust your mom displays during such an awful time are a testament not only to how wonderful she is but how wonderful Jesus is. Cancer is, by far, one of the most terrible things anyone could ever have to go through. But her testimony and witness is so much more powerful because of it. I imagine the devil may have had a conversation with The Lord about your mom much as he did about Job. And God said, “It won’t matter what you do. She’s faithful to her core. Just watch.” None of us really want that conversation to take place. We want to be faithful (but not so much we get put on a pedestal for all to watch while we prove we can endure anything by grace). It sounds indecent and callous to say her suffering is also an honor. It’s horrible. Terrible. Infuriating. And these words are utterly inadequate on the negative scale for such a fight as this. But in your mom’s case, I believe it is also an honor. People who don’t even know your mother (like me) are being encouraged in their faith by her example. I believe others who do not know The Lord will be compelled to learn more about Him. And it’s a direct result of her example of faith in the fire. God knew this. He knew He could count on her. He honors her with His trust as she honors Him with hers. Such a beautiful dance between them…trust and surrender in the midst of life’s worst. Please thank her for me. Her example is priceless. I hope that one day The Lord can count on me as solidly as He knew He could count on her.

  29. Cancer stinks!
You both have such a positive attitude! Lifting you both up in prayer! I know this time is really tough. Please let us know if we can do anything to help out!

  30. Praying for your mom as well Adrienne. May the Holy Spirit breathe on her today giving her renewed energy, strength, life, hope and joy! Pray ing that she will sense and feel the atmosphere of heaven as all these prayers are being lifted up—and that the cancer would just completely dissolve in His presence! So love the way you love your mom . . . beautiful, inspiring and contagious!

  31. Adrienne and Betty,

I pray with confidence to a mighty Savior, expectantly, knowing He can do things BEYOND our greatest hope. I lay my prayers and petitions for your total and complete healing and for strength and comfort and peace at HIS feet. Much love to all of you. 2 Cor 12:9 His grace is sufficient and power perfected in our weakness. Thanks for the updates. Kim

  32. Adrienne,
I wish I could come and sit with you in this. It was five years ago that I was in a similar place. My mom was fighting cancer and we would soon find out it had moved to her lungs. My mom’s story is not your mom’s story and my story is not your story. However, knowing your story and the loss you’ve walked through and knowing my story and the loss I’ve walked through makes me wish I could just be there; to listen, to get coffee, to pray.
Your mom’s faith is inspiring. That the outcome will not effect her faith and relationship with the Lord-inspiring. Surrender. That’s the lesson I’m learning now. The way your mom is surrendering to the Lord in the midst of all this-inspiring. It makes me think of this song:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iucg_fLH68o
“It’s only in surrender that I’m free. It’s only in surrender that I’m truly free.”
Lord, I thank you for the life and relationship of Adrienne and her sweet mom. Holy Spirit, will you please fill that room? Will you please make yourself so evident that wherever they look, you are there. You are moving. As they look for you, they find you. Thank you for never leaving us nor forsaking us. Lord, continue to burden my heart and the hearts of others for Adrienne and her mom. In Jesus name. Amen

  33. Praying that her story continues and Jesus just heals her body and stops the growth of this stupid disease.

I pray the same prayer over my husband everyday that his will stop and like you, we tend to make jokes where others are thinking we are nuts or inconsiderate. Like you, I don’t believe James’ story is over yet either. So, we push on!

I only know your mom through the comments I have read on your FB and she is an incredible woman of God and too keep that faith, strength and courage during this fight is nothing more than an amazing display of God’s grace!

I have all my prayer warriors praying for her, lifting you and your entire family up in prayer!

    I love you, Ade!!

  34. You, your mom, your mom’s love and trust in God….. so much touched me about all that you are going through. I love my mom dearly and I hear your love for her so clearly. Only God knows the outcome of your mom’s story right now, but what I know (as I know you do to) the outcome will give God glory. My prayer is for healing and miraculous stories being told for years about how God healed her. Although, that’s the way I want the story to end I find peace knowing that God’s plans are the best. Praying for you.

  35. Betty, you and your daughter are amazing encouragements in Christ! I am sure that I don’t have to tell you that is not all about the destination, but the journey, and regardless of the destination that God has already ordained for you, you have journeyed well! I am praying for a miracle! By His stripes we are healed already and if He chooses to heal you of cancer, we are doubly blessed! I am praying that during this time of crying out to God for your physical healing, He will strengthen you and uphold you with His righteous right hand! I am also praying for much harvest during this ministry time as I know you will use it for His glory. We love you and Adrienne so much!!

  36. Adrienne,
So sorry you are having to walk this out with your folks. Warren is working through a similar situation with his friend of 35 years who lost his wife back in November last year to the same cancer he has now has. We have lived our lives in ministry for over 20 years knowing Betty and Bog Dog had our backs in prayer. As you say it is a full time connection that she lives. My greatest memory of Betty was when we were in the midst of a major spiritual battle in Italy and to this day we are not sure how Betty got our fax number at the camp we were staying at, but it was headed “urgent, get out of there now” and we did, as the attack took a bad turn after we left and God saved us from what would have been very ugly. From that to the four of us traveling through Scotland together and having one of the most fun times in our lives. Two days ago we were looking through some photo albums and were re- engaged our prayers along with you all. Love and prayers, Warren and Jolene

  37. Hi Adrienne,
Thank you for posting this for us to get the update on your Mom. I have been praying and will continue to pray for your Mom to be completely healed – for all cancer to be gone from her body and never return again!

I wanted to say something to you, Adrienne about denial – no you are not in denial! We know that the Kingdom of God is a spiritual realm with spiritual laws that are higher than natural laws – and these effect our natural realm. We have seen miracles before so, why should we not keep believing for a miracle for your Mom? My Mom had at least 4 times throughout her life where the doctors had “given up” on her living – didn’t know if she would make it through another day. At the “giving up” stage my Mom miraculously recovered. I believe you and your Mom are right – she still has work to do here on this earth. And, I will be praying for that! Please give her my love,
    Pamela

  38. B and B,
Mikey and I send the WORD that already abides in you. His Peace is ruling in your life and His grace is sufficient. We love you to pieces. We will see you soon. All we want when you are up to it, is sit, relax and enjoy your company. Maybe we all can stow away for a day or two.

In agreement with you and Bob and His Word.

    Michael and Jilly
    XOXO

  39. Ade,

You have been an encouragement to so many others that of course I’m sure you learned so much of your amazing character traits from your own mom. Please let her know that she is in my prayers!!! God is not through with her yet!

  40. Adrienne, just wanted to let you know we are praying for your mother and your family. We love all of you, and the reflection of Christ in your mother has always been strong. It is very clear to all those that have ever met your mother, that she has invested her life in Christ and he will embrace her and your family during this time.

  41. I’ve tried to think of words but have not found them. I just know I love your family so much. There is a special bond despite time or distance. I don’t like this cancer thing. At all. It feels so wrong. But with you I will praise the King who loves us kids and trust Him come what may. I love you Betty. So much. Thank you for being who you are and shining THE Light wherever you go – in every circumstance.

  42. Praying. Big hugs! One day, no more death or tears. May that day come quickly, and praying that your mom has a healing that foreshadows that greater miracle.

    • “A healing that foreshadows that greater miracle…” YES! We believe God is healing Bebe and it will foreshadow many greater miracles! Amen, Catherine! xoxox

  43. I have read this many times this week. I wish I had some “strong” words for you…. That would show encouragement, faith, love. But all I have is a deep pain in my heart and tears. One… This is my biggest fear. Two…. I love the strong relationship you and Dana have with your mom. She is full of so much wisdom. Just know that I love your family and I’m praying for you guys. Hugs to you.

    • Elizabeth, I love you! And I love your honesty, but baby, I’m gonna pray right now: Father, I pray against the spirit of fear that not only Elizabeth has expressed but so many others! I pray, Father, for Your GOODNESS AND LOVE AND GRACE AND PEACE to fill hearts and minds where the Enemy of our hearts has tried to come in to steal, kill, and destroy! Father, expose his lies so that our hearts are set on greater things, like the beautiful lives we are living in Your presence with the people we love, here and now, and on even greater things like eternity. I pray for hearts all over the world to be FREED of FEAR and that it would no longer hold us back from trusting YOu are GOOD and see a bigger picture and that if life is short, than pain is temporary!

Sis, my heart hurts, but to be completely honest, I don’t “go there” because we aren’t there with our Mom. She is ALIVE and still teaching us and cracking completely inappropriate jokes and we are laughing and loving and LIVING because that’s what THIS DAY has given. I sure love you! And I’m still praying for your mama! xoxox
